Vehicle Marketing

Vehicle marketing has been around since the first horseless carriage appeared to advertise whatever the vehicle owner had to sell, even as he went about selling it. Vehicle marketing provides an excellent way to do business and generate new business at the same time.

Pizza restaurants deliver goods and advertise their services using a roof attachment proclaiming the accessibility and availability of freshly prepared pizza delivered straight to a consumer's door. Taxi services provide rides-for-hire while advertising the cab company with vehicle marketing.

But a new concept in vehicle marketing is that of designing a car to advertise a product or service and then hiring someone to drive it around. Companies that use vehicle marketing hire drivers who don't mind using the advertising vehicle for personal use. The car is provided to the driver free of charge in exchange for driving it.

Companies that use vehicle marketing want drivers who will log in many driving hours to expose their message to as many consumers as possible. The vehicle can be parked at the mall, for example, while the driver shops, and consumers get information about a product or service when they see the car.

Vehicle marketing can be used by car rental companies to inform consumers that they can rent an identical car by calling a toll-free number. It might say something like, "Rent a car like this one for only $9.99 per day." Vehicle marketing has the advantage of showing consumers exactly what they can get, for how much, and how they can get it.

Vehicle marketing benefits the company as well as the driver. The company gets advertising exposure, the driver gets a free car, and the advertising message reaches the consumer. Because the car can turn up anywhere and is constantly on the move, its message will reach many more consumers than would a stationary marketing device like a billboard.
